I’m a wife, busy stepmom to two incredible stepsons (20 and 15), food lover, travel enthusiast, handbag junkie, book worm, dog mom, trauma and chronic illness survivor and business owner.
First and foremost, I am a woman. And I know what it is like to just want to feel good in your own skin—from the inside out. For 25 years, I suffered from chronic migraines that became my “norm.” My first onset happened at age 12 and lasted for six months straight. Doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong at first, and I learned how to live with chronic pain and discomfort, spending the next two decades of my life with a headache—everyday.
Like you, I know what it’s like to feel like your health isn’t exactly where you want it to be, or to wonder if there’s something more than the current state you’re in, but to also feel like you have to settle. Since no one else can figure it out for you, you just have to deal.
Be it constipation, bloating, a slow metabolism, seasonal allergies, low thyroid, an autoimmune disease, IBS, embarrassing breakouts, low energy, anxiety, stress or simply not feeling like yourself, I know what it’s like to want something different, but feel stuck in your own body at the same time.
Enter: My lightbulb moment--the moment my whole life (and health) changed.
After spending 25 years just “dealing” with the symptoms, popping headache medications daily and trying to get on with my life, I had an Oprah-like “aha moment” intervention when I read a book called “Wheat Belly” of all things, and discovered a secret no doctor ever told me. In it, there was a blurb about the link between gluten intolerance and migraines, so I decided to experiment.
I cut gluten out of my diet, and within 30 days, I was migraine free!
After 25 years of daily headaches, they were no longer and I immediately realized the power that food has over our health. In fact, not only did my headaches go away, but nutrition alone was also the medicine for helping me overcome adrenal fatigue, thyroid imbalances, clear up my skin, and get my low energy back on track. From that point on, I became a passionate advocate for the power of nutrition, and began educating myself on everything nutrition and wellness related.
By eating the right, or adequate, foods for your unique health needs, you can drastically improve your quality of life, and in many cases, reverse disease and illness.
My passion drove me to find myself graduating with honors from Bauman College as a Certified Nutrition Consultant—after spending the previous 15 years working in Marketing and Public Relations.
My world was rocked—and I love nothing more than helping others rock their world (and health) too.
Upon graduation, I started my holistic nutrition practice, rashon, and I haven’t looked back since.
